Lida M. Vargas, D.D.S.

Dr. Vargas has been in practice for more than fifteen years.  She initially received her dental degree from the Universidad del Bosque in Bogota Colombia where she was in private practice for several years.  She later moved to Europe where she conducted research and published several papers in European journals.  She later migrated to the United States and after validating her credentials, she was awarded her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland’s Dental School.

Dr. Vargas has continued to pursue higher education in order to broaden her skills as a dental professional, and to treat her patients in a more holistic view.  She has completed post-graduate training in dental implants from Implant Seminars under the direction of Dr. Arun K. Garg.  Dr. Vargas is a certified Invisalign®, a Clear Correct provider was well as a diplomat in orthodontics.

Dr. Vargas is a member of the American Dental Association, the Virginia Dental Association, the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and is a fellow of the  American Board of Oral Implantology.

Our Team

Santiago J. Rueda, D.D.S.

Dr. Rueda received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from University of Maryland’s Dental School in 2005.  He then completed his residency at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Bethlehem Pennsylvania.  Dr. Rueda joined the practice of Dr. Vargas in 2008.

Dr. Rueda is licensed to practice dentistry in Virginia and in Maryland.  He is an excellent general practitioner, known for this skills and great sense of humor.  Dr. Rueda enjoys riding his motorcycle and playing in amateur billiard league.

Taeheon Kang, D.D.S., M.S.

Dr. Kang received his postgraduate degree in Periodontics from the Seoul National University in Korea in 1996.  After migrating to the United States, Dr. Kang validated his credentials and received his postgraduate degree also in Periodontics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry in 2003.

Aside from being in private practice, Dr. Kang has been a clinical instructor in Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania as well as in Nova Southeastern University in Florida.  He was also been an educator of the American Academy of Periodontology and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology.  

Dr. Kang is a leading expert in his field and has published extensively* in the field of Periodontics.  He is also the only Periodontist currently in the United States to have completed a Periodontal residency program in both the United States and in Korea.

Dr. Kang is also an inductee in Marquis Who’s Who in America.
